Task A - Market overview and state of the art

Task A will give a well – founded survey on the state of the art of thermally driven heat pumps and their actual situation and future perspectives in the market of cooling and heating systems. The regulatory framework will be included.

WP 1 - State of the art/Country reports

The documentation of the state of the art will give an overview of existing thermally driven heat pump systems in technical and economical terms.
The Country Reports, supported by each participating country, will establish the basis of the survey on thermally driven heat pumps. For each country the market structure, the marked players, the regulatory framework (e.g.. heat rejection (water use, legionnella), constraints on working materials, noise) and the electrical grid security (limits for electric cooling in summer) will be analysed and documented. Countries, identified as relevant markets but not participating, will also be included.

WP 2 - Outlook

Adapted from the state of the art, outlook perspectives for thermally driven heat pumps will be developed by focusing on technical questions. Therefore new technical developments will be included into the survey and their possible role in the future market on heating, cooling and refrigeration will be assessed.

WP 3 - Politics/ labeling

Adapted from the state of the art of regulatory framework legislative barriers and influences will be pointed out and evaluated. Recommendations for improvements will be given. The implementation of a System Labeling will be discussed.

Task A - deliverables

  • Creation of an Internet website (linked to the HPC-site) with public and member regions.
  • Up to date information on market overview with possible applications and examples of demonstration projects or cases, published at the Annex34 Internet website.
  • Technical report of State of the art
